Continuous Landscape: South America 2010
This is a recent series, still ongoing at present. It depicts all the landscapes of Central and South America, as I travelled around the continent. It is a continuous landscape with changing moods, colours, compositions, as I paint each panel.
TREES Series, 2008-2009
The TREE Series began as a visual appreciation of the trees around us, and all the things that they do for us and the Earth. Each of the titles exemplifies one of the functions that trees perform for us, if we don't cut them down! Many of the paintings in this series have sold well.
Yanomamo Series, 2007
I had a group of musicians from Brazil who were staying with me for an extended time. They taught me much about their culture, their music, their love of nature, and their love of life. These paintings came from that experience.
Musical Instruments 2003
This short series portrays musical instruments with whimsy and energy.
Totem Men 2000: Collection of the artist.
I expected to draw a man figure when I stared at the blank mylar canvas, but suddenly my hand turned downward and created another head; and then another. These totem images came directly from the subconscious.
Pregnancy Series, Oil on Mylar, 1999: Collection of the Artist.
This series exploded out of me when my son was 3 years old. There was an urgency and deep emotion involved with each of the paintings. They are almost life-sized and I painted them in my bedroom. Eventually all the walls were hung with the images, and it felt like all my art was having a party around me while I slept. Prints of each available on request.
