She offers Design Services on a freelance, consulting or contractual basis, for design/build Landscape projects in Ontario.
Individual clients or Landscaping companies would benefit from requesting services at the beginning the process of re-designing a garden or public urban space.
Hilary works with the client to discuss and clarify their exterior green space preferences, and then produces a design in keeping with the client's needs, for a site specific final concept. Hilary is also available as a liaison between clients and landscape contractors to ensure that the completed design adheres to the Design Concept as specified.

URBAN Garden EntertainingA new design Riverdale, Toronto. The client wished for outdoor entertaining in a maintenance free urban garden room. Removal of the grass lawn eradicated ongoing maintenance. The re-designed garden incorporates an enlarged flagstone patio for entertainment and outdoor living. The formal green border hedging the stone patio affords a virtually maintenance free urban garden setting and relaxed lawn lounging surrounded by floral garden beds.
The client wished for an elegant garden room. The project was completed on time and within the specified budget. The initial cost of the landscape design was mitigated by the reduced cost of ongoing lawn maintenance. The design/build company walked away with a successful project and fair profit, while the happy client resulted in positive 'word-of-mouth' marketing. My fee for this urban scale garden was $2,000.00 for the base design and an additional $1500. for the detailed planting plan. The design/build Landscape Firm increased their profits with the upgraded design on this project, and the client got a $50,000. garden for about $30,000. Hiring a design consultant is a win-win situation, with an elegant long-lasting trouble-free garden for the client, and a more successful result for the contractor.
