She offers services on a freelance, consulting or contractual basis, for design/build Landscape Companies in Ontario.
Individual clients or Landscaping companies would benefit from requesting services at the beginning the process of re-designing a garden or public urban space. Hilary works with the client to discuss and clarify their preferences, and then produces a design in keeping with the client's needs, with a site specific final design. Hilary also communicates with the contractors to ensure that the completed design adheres to the illustrated concept, as specified.

Residential Design
Private Garden Oasis, Riverdale, Toronto.
Design repair, after customer unsatisfied with initial designer's concept.
A new design for a Toronto garden in Riverdale. The initial contractor hadn't allowed space for entertaining, and the grass lawn would have resulted in excessive ongoing weekly maintenance of the green space. I designed an enlarged flagstone patio, allowing for entertainment and seating. The sunny green space affords relaxed lawn chair lounging, and is virtually maintenance free, having replaced the grass with green borders and floral gardens.
The client wished for an elegant garden room. The project was completed on time and within the specified budget. The initial cost of an upgraded landscape design can be mitigated by the reduced maintenance cost over the longterm, when lawns are replaced.
The design/build company walked away with a successful project and fair profit, while the happy client resulted in positive 'word-of-mouth' marketing!
My fee was $2,000.00 for the base design and an additional $1500. for the detailed planting plan. The design/build Landscape firm increased their profits on the project, and the client got a $50,000. garden for about $30,000.
